Francis "Frank" Joseph West

Francis "Frank" Joseph West, 70, of Frederick, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at his home. He was the husband of 50 years to Colleen (Singer) West. Born on August 31, 1954, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of Frank West and Helen (Horency) West.

Mr. West graduated from West Mifflin South High School, class of 1972. He then graduated from Control Data Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, and was an IT Specialist. His career spanned for 35 years, at various IT companies, including Goddard Space Flight Center and Hewlett Packard until his retirement.

He was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Frank coached his sons teams in Frederick National Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball, sharing his love of the sport with them along the way. He was an avid lover of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Orioles and Washington Capitals.

He was a loving, caring father, a wonderful husband, and a devoted grandfather, being known to his grandchildren as "Pappy".

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Marc West and wife Tammy, and Michael West and wife Megan as well as 3 grandchildren: Marc, Cadilyn and Cash.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 8 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 9, at 11:00 AM, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E. Second Street, Frederick. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
