Gary "Skip" Goodman

Gary “Skip” Goodman died peacefully at his home in Frederick, Maryland on July 10, 2025. Born on February 15, 1944 in Washington, DC to Doris and John Goodman, he was a lifelong resident of Maryland. Skip was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather to his wife of 52 years Linda Goodman, his three children Tracey Lauterborn(Frank), Amy Parmentier(Peter), and Joshua Goodman(Janie), and his grandchildren Danielle, Brendan, and Peyton Lauterborn, Caroline Parmentier, and Sam, Mae, and Oliver Copple-Goodman. He is also survived by his brothers Ronnie and Wayne Goodman and a host of dear friends and neighbors. Skip was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

He served his country proudly in the Maryland National Guard for five years and retired from the US Census Bureau after 35 years of service. He was a talented woodworker, excellent chef and grill master, and eternal teller of dad jokes. He enjoyed traveling throughout the US and Europe and loved music, MGBs, and University of Maryland lacrosse.

The family will receive friends on July 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the start of the service at 11:30 AM at Walkersville United Methodist Church, 22 Main Street, Walkersville, MD 21793. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service.
