George Roland "Chip" Jae, 81, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Patricia Lee Jae. Born on April 28, 1945, in Wilkinsburg, PA, he was the son of George Peter Jae and Mary Etta (Croft) Jae.

Mr. Jae was a 1964 graduate of Gateway High School, in Monroeville, PA. In 1965, he entered the United States Coast Guard, serving until his honorable discharge in 1969.

Chip was a plumber for many years with Ben Lewis Plumbing. Upon his retirement, he worked as a custodian for Frederick County Public Schools, until his final retirement in 2021.

Mr. Jae was a lifetime member of the American Legion, FSK Post #11. He enjoyed working on cars, and belonged to the informal "Out-Casts" Car Group.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lee Jae; a daughter, Stacey Staub; a son, Christopher Jae; Grandchildren: Kaiden Jae, Madisyn Staub, and Kailynn Jae. He is also survived by a sister, Peggy Jae Cotter, as well a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Lynne Rosetti.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 5, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home, with a visitation being held for an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Frederick Health Hospice.
