George Karanikas, age 62, of Frederick, passed away on December 18, 2025, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 8, 1963, in Washington, DC, George was the beloved son of John George Karanikas and Agnes (Protos) Karanikas, who welcomed him into heaven.
George spent his formative years growing up on Reedie Drive in Wheaton, MD, and graduated from Northwood High School in 1981. He built a distinguished career as a master electrician, founding and operating Electric Unlimited, Inc. for over 30 years. George’s reputation for his meticulous craftsmanship, dedication to quality and direct honesty will be remembered by all who worked with and knew him.
In 1986, George married the love of his life, Denise Karanikas. Together, they created a loving home in Jefferson, MD, and raised two sons, Kevin and Brian, with joy and pride. George’s greatest happiness came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, and boating, but above all, he treasured moments with loved ones.
Known for his wisdom, thoughtful perspective, and willingness to help, George touched countless lives. He was always ready to offer guidance, support, and honest advice to those who sought it. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
