Georgia Frye Ridgeway 98, of Lovettsville, VA, passed away peacefully at her home on May 30, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Gene Ridgeway for 72 years. She was one of 9 children of the late Myrland and Dorothea Frye. She was preceded in death by 7 siblings (Margaret, Thelma, Elizabeth, Leonard, Howard, Esther, and Stanley) and survived by her sister Barbara Gletner of Lovettsville, Va.
She attended the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church for over 90 years and served as treasurer for many of those and volunteered countless hours with additional church duties and functions. She was employed by the FBI in the 1940s and was an avid bowler in Brunswick back when they set the pins up by hand!! Her other interests included football, baseball, flower gardening and the love for cooking and baking. She was a die-hard fan of the Nationals and most of all the Redskins. Her favorite getaway was the cabin on the Shenandoah River where she celebrated her birthdays up to the age of 98. On top of all of those, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was a beloved Mom to Peggy Jackson (Robert), Gary Ridgeway, Terry Ridgeway (Debbie), Mark Ridgeway (Bonnie). Grandma to Scotty Sigafoose (Tammy), Tammy Sigafoose (Chris), Brett Ridgeway (Ashley), Darren Ridgeway (Tracy), Brandon Ridgeway and Great Grandma to Dalton Sigafoose, Grant Sigafoose, Bryson Makel, Blake Sigafoose, Camden Makel, Claire Ridgeway, and BrodyRidgeway.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephewsand great nieces and nephews as well.
The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home in Brunswick, Md on Tuesday, June 9 from 5-8pm.
Funeral service will be held at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Lovettsville, Va followed by a graveside burial on Wednesday, June 10 at 11am.
Reception following the service at Fox Hall (Mt. Olivet UMC)
