Gerald Clinton Karn, 92, of Burkittsville, Maryland, went to be with the lord on Friday, August 8, 2025 at his home. He was the husband of the late Eva M. Karn.
Born on October 24, 1932, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late George Clinton Karn and Fannie (Norris) Karn.
As a young man, Gerald played fast pitch softball in Brunswick and throughout the area. He loved working on his property, growing potatoes and blackberries, and loving working his beehives.
Gerald spent his life in the construction field as well as renovating numerous properties he owned. Hard work was his mission, but his passion was taking care of his family and friends when needed. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.
Gerald was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Gapland. He was a life-long member of both the Brunswick Eagles and Loyal Order of the Moose.
He is survived by son, Gerald R. Karn and Martha, of Burkittsville; one daughter, Suzanne Ramsburg and Herbert, of Martinsburg, WV; two grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn Atwood of Baltimore, and Jennifer Blackburn and Phil, of Boonsboro; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas A. Deosaran and Brandon Conners and Mymy; and one great-great-grandson, Camdon.
He was preceded in death by son, Thomas R. Atwood; two granddaughters, Stephanie M. Scanlon and Amy R. Deosaran; brothers, Harry and George Karn; and sisters, Alma Merriman, Mary Broyles, and Earlene Redman.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Homes in Brunswick. Brother Clayton A. Clark, Sr. will officiate. Burial will be held at Locust Valley Bible Church Cemetery in Middletown.
Memorial donations may be made to Autumn Lake Healthcare at Braddock Heights or to Frederick Health Hospice.
