Geraldine Brand Eudy

Geraldine Brand Eudy (92) passed away peacefully on June 19, 2023. Born in Atlanta, GA, on August 26, 1930, but raised in rural North Carolina where she graduated from Rockingham High School (class of ’48).

 In school she was active in student council, home economics, bible study and chorus. After moving to Charlotte to attend secretarial school and then working professionally, “Geri” soon met her life partner and husband Darrell at a high school dance.

 They married in Memphis, TN on July 20. 1951 where Darrell had just completed his training for the Navy. Subsequently deployed overseas during the Korean war, Geri remained stateside where she gave birth to their first of five children. Despite the family’s frequent moves, she was always busy making a happy Christian home and took great pride in cooking wonderful meals for her family. She also cared deeply for her many pets (dogs and cats alike) which she had throughout her life.

Known as the “matriarch” of the Eudy family, Geri was always cheerful and had a very special knack for making visitors (especially her grandchildren) feel loved and always welcome. Even in recent years after Darrell had passed and dementia set in, Geri maintained an air of happiness about her that continued to draw everyone to her. She had a beautiful voice and was well known for singing along the with the radio even into her final days. Sadly, she was also predeceased by her two eldest children (Micheline and Scott), but is survived by her three remaining sons (Todd, Jeff, and Mike) and her Grandchildren (Kate, Mikey, Alissa, Scott, Karly and Harper).

 Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate her life at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD starting at 10 am on Friday June 30, 2023. Funeral services will follow at 11am with burial at 1 pm in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery at 13801 Georgia Ave., in Aspen Hill, MD.

A reception will follow at the nearby home of Mike Eudy. Contributions to the Angel’s Touch Assisted Living at 12799 Buttercup Ct., West Friendship, MD 21794 are welcomed.
