Mr. Gery “Jay Bird” Craig Jordan, 65, of Frederick, Maryland, died on Friday March 31, 2023 in his home.  Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 10, 1957, he was the son of the late Dorothy and Nelson Marsh.  

Gery graduated from Thomas Johnson High School in 1974, in Frederick, Maryland.  He immediately joined the United States Navy in 1975, then followed his time in the military by working in the construction industry, specializing in concrete and bridge work, often with his brother, Rick “Bodine”.  

Gery is survived by five siblings, Rick Jordan of Thurmont, MD, Cynthia Hanna & Mike of Frederick, MD, Juliette McWilliams & Dan of Gore, VA, Kay Green & Rex of Pittsburgh, TX, and Gary Marsh & Robyn of Novato, CA.  He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Case Jordan, Sean Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Jessica Schuhly, Michael Hanna, Kaitlyn Hanna, Megan Jennings, Eric Green, Lon Gallagher, Sean Gallagher, and Lisa Butler as well as many great nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Gery is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Susan Kelly, his nephew Colter Jordan, and his parents, Nelson and Dorothy Marsh.

Gery was loved by his family and many friends.  He will be remembered for his love of art, drawing, creating, being with nature, riding motorcycles with his friends, and his deep love for his parents and his Aunt Ida.  

Gery will be remembered by his immediate family with a private celebration of life at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veterans Affairs.  Checks can be made to the VA Maryland Health Care System <https://www.va.gov/maryland-health-care/work-with-us/volunteer-or-donate/> and mailed to Perry Point VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service (PP/135/VS), Building 15H, Room 214, Perry Point, MD 21902.  Please note in the Memo section of the check, “In memory of Gery C.
