Glenn Fogle, Jr.

Glenn "Chip" Fogle Jr., 76, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away on July 18, 2026. Born on December 20, 1949, in Walkersville, Maryland, to the late Glenn Fogle Sr. and the late Marguerite Honts, Chip lived a life defined by dedication, generosity, and quiet strength.

Chip graduated from Walkersville High School in 1967, and shortly thereafter answered the call to serve his country. He served honorably during the Vietnam War and continued his commitment to the United States Army through his service in the Army Reserves. His time in the military shaped the man he would become, instilling in him a deep sense of duty and discipline that he carried throughout every chapter of his life.

In April of 1972, Chip married the love of his life, Cheryl Fogle, and together they built a home and a family in Saratoga Springs, New York. It was there that Chip established himself as a dependable and valued employee of the Saratoga Springs City School District, where his hard work and trustworthy nature earned the respect of colleagues and community members alike. Those who knew Chip understood that his word was his bond, and that his caring, kind spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to be in his company.

Outside of work, Chip was a man of passionate hobbies. He found great joy in the meticulous craft of building model trains, a pursuit that reflected his patience and attention to detail. He was equally devoted to restoring 1960s Corvettes, spending countless hours bringing classic machines back to their original glory. When the work was done, nothing pleased him more than driving around in his beloved sports cars, savoring every mile behind the wheel.

Chip was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Fogle; his father, Glenn Fogle Sr.; his mother, Marguerite Honts; and his sister, Bonnie Nash. He is survived by his son, Glenn Fogle III (Amanda Fogle); his daughter, Sarah Hurley (Sean Hurley); his brother, Jimmy Fogle (Donna Fogle); and his sister, Jackie Fogle Dvorak. (Donald Dvorak). He also leaves behind a wider circle of family, including six grandchildren (Dylan Fogle, Erik Fogle, Henry Fogle, Addilyn Hurley, Avery Hurley, Molly Hurley) and friends whose lives were made richer by his presence.

May Chip now rest in eternal peace, reunited with those he loved who went before him. His service to his country, his devotion to his family, and his gentle, steadfast character stand as a lasting testament to a life well lived.

Funeral services will be held at Stauffer's Funeral Home in Walkersville, Maryland, on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with full funeral services commencing at 11:00 AM. Chip will be laid to rest at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York, at a later date, with the military honors befitting a proud veteran.
