Hazel Zinkhan

Hazel Miller Zinkhan, 99, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

Born on April 30, 1923, in Cascade, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Allan Miller and Edith Mae (Smith) Miller.

Hazel was a farm wife at Jimtown for many years. She also worked at Old Moore's Business Forms, Thurmont Shoe Factory and cleaned houses for many in the community.

She is survived by her son, George Zinkhan, III; special nephew, Gary Robert Miller and other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Helen (Harold) Bittner, Esther (William) Yingling, Gladys (Nevin) Wolfe, Betty (Joe) Dingle; brothers, Harry (Gail) Miller, Robert Edgar (Aneeda) Miller; friends, Chris Cooper and Elizabeth Strube.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Amada Senior Care Services, Karina, Lesley, Erin, Ashlin, Lyneth, Christabel, Shaunte and others;  her former care giver who loved Hazel as a mother, Delores and Dr. Syed and the nurse's staff on the 3rd floor for the loving care given to Hazel.

Graveside services and interment will be held at the Blueridge Cemetery, Thurmont, MD on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 10:00 am.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Frederick County Animal Shelter.
