Heath “Haus” Morrison, 56, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Frederick Health Hospital.
Born on July 16, 1968, in Willoughby, Ohio, he was the youngest son of the late Donna Lee (Hendrix) Morrison and Roy Carl Morrison.
Heath grew up in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Uniontown Area Senior High School with the class of 1986. He later attended Rosedale Technical College, graduating with an associate’s degree in automotive and diesel technology. More recently, he earned a second associate's degree, majoring in drafting and design technology at ITT Technical Institute. At that time, Heath accepted an invitation to join the National Technical Honor Society.
His career included positions in a variety of industries that were a good match for his construction knowledge, mechanical skills, and his ability to train others and demonstrate heavy equipment. Two highlights of his work experience were as an Appraiser/Demo operator for used equipment at Alban CAT in Myersville, Maryland, and as a fleet mechanic for United Rentals in Baltimore, Maryland.
Heath was a follower of Christ, and his faith was a priority in his life. His favorite Bible book was James. When a family member was struggling with a tough situation or an important decision, he was quick to ask, “Did you pray about it?”
He was an amazing man of many talents. His family, friends, and co-workers highly regarded his gift of hospitality, cooking, and baking. His specialties included turkey dinner, Christmas cookies, lasagna, and delicious meat-capades on the grill. Heath also had an artistic and creative side. He was a member of his high school choir and enjoyed activities in the theater department as well. In his younger years, the Morrison family would go caroling and gather around the piano and sing together during the holidays. He also participated in various church choirs and worship teams. Heath was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers (NFL), Penn State football, New York Jets (NFL), and Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL).
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Rebecca Morrison, his siblings Pamela (John) Murphy, Terry (Joy) Morrison, Lisa (John) Vincent-Morrison, and his twin sister Heather. He also enjoyed special relationships with his nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland. Following the public visitation, a celebration of Heath’s life journey will take place at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
