Hope Ann Lorient, 50, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, August 3, 2026 at her home with her partner, Jemal, by her side.

Born on September 25, 1975, Frederick, she was the daughter of the late John W. Smith and Janice P. Boone Young.

In addition to her partner, Jemal D. Valentine, she will be sorely missed by her sisters, Sandra Cool and husband, Tony, of Sabillasville, Angela Smith of Bunker Hill, WV, and Kathy Boyce and partner, Archie Ingram, of High Point, NC; bonus mom, Ida Valentine of Sharpsburg; and her baby (pup) girls, Blue and Ray.

Services will be held at a later date.
