Jack O. Bookwalter

Jack passed away unexpectedly on August 27 2025. Born on July 14, 1943 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of Alberta McCormick and Mirion Bookwalter and husband of Marjorie, his wife of 38 years.

Jack was a lifelong Giant Food employee and an avid car show enthusiast, who enjoyed showing off his 1936 Ford Truck. His greatest joy and love though was his family. Along with Marjorie, he is survived by 4 daughters, Joanne Sharkey (Patrick), Sandra Crovo (Andrew), Deborah Whims (Milton), and Christina Whims (Glen). He treasured his 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren with another due in January. He is also survived by numerous extended family members, special nephew Bobby Bookwalter, many close friends and best canine companion, Bandit.

A Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Sunday September 7at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick, located at 1621 Opossumtown Pike Frederick, Maryland 21702. Service will be held Monday September 8 at 11am at the Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick, following a visitation from 10-11am. A reception will be held following the service at the funeral home.
