Jackie Thomas

Jackie Thomas passed peacefully at her home on August 13, 2025. She is survived by her husband Dan, her daughters Carrie Sowden (Bob Horwatt) and Jane Sowden, and her granddaughter Madison Brzostowicz.

Jackie was a long-time resident of Walkersville, MD where she raised her girls. Jackie enjoyed restoring the home she shared with Dan and collecting early American folk art. She enjoyed being a part of the storytelling community; as she and Dan attended the National Storytelling Festival for over 35 years. Travel adventures with her family were some of the best memories, especially Buxton, NC and Ireland.

Donations may be made in her name to Frederick Health Hospice; or Friends in Frederick Parkinson's Disease Support Group.

Services for Jackie will be private.
