Jacob Eugene Easterday

Jacob Eugene Easterday, 88, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Brandenburg) Easterday for 67 years.

Born on September 4, 1937, in Boonsboro, Maryland, he was the son of the late Granville T., Sr. and Naomi Ruth (Toms) Easterday.

Jacob was a 1955 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He devoted a significant portion of his life to his work at Pangborn, where he contributed his skills and efforts until his retirement in 2000. Jacob and his family owned and operated True Value Hardware Store (Warrenfeltz) in Boonsboro from 1983-2004. After the sale of the store, Jacob fulfilled a cherished dream by purchasing his family farm, a place that held immense significance in his heart. Jacob's passion for farming and love for animals was evident in the care he provided for his hundreds of cows and various other creatures, all of whom he regarded with deep affection. He was a member of the UAW and a former member of the Boonsboro Lions Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Leslie (Easterday) Paulus and husband Mark, sons, Todd Easterday and wife Camille and Michael Easterday; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland and 10 am-11 am Friday, March 6 at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church. 

A celebration of Jacob's life journey will take place at 11 am on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church, 21234 Mt. Lena Road in Boonsboro, Maryland. Interment will follow at Mt. Lena United Methodist Church Cemetery.
