Jacqueline Marie Stover, 58, of Frederick passed away peacefully at her home, with her best friend by her side on June 5, 2026, after battling glioblastoma. Born April 18, 1968, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Elwood Stover and the late Rebecca Marie Stover.
Jackie spent her early childhood in Emmitsburg, Maryland and later moved to Frederick. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1986 and went onto Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Her love of Art showed in her paintings and in her gardening. Jackie then moved to St. Croix, USVI where she lived and worked the better part of her adult life. As a devoted daughter, Jackie moved back to Maryland to care for her mother during her Parkinson’s illness. Jackie was happiest among friends and family, especially by the pool enjoying the warm sun on her face or a gentle island breeze.
Jackie is survived by her brother Christopher (Christie), niece Katie and nephew Alex Stover, Uncles John and Gerald Haley, cousins Julie DiGenarro, Kimberly Momomier, Laura, Josphine and Capt. Eric Corbin, Andrew Kelley, Haley, Reagan, Eleanor, Woodrow and Caledonia.
A life cut short too early and loved by so many, Jackie will be truly missed by best friend Renee Reckley Levow and Betsy Keyser Selby, family friend Bernie Pattie as well as her furry babies, dogs Bonnie and Clyde, and all her Maryland and St. Croix friends. At Jackie’s request she will be cremated and her ashes scattered later in St. Croix. There will be a visitation Friday June 19, 2026, from 4-6pm for friends and the public and a private family visitation from 6-8pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick, MD.
Throughout her life Jackie was a devoted animal lover, especially to Bonnie and Clyde. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society, American Cancer Society or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
