James Jacob Baer

Thurmont
James was born on March 9th, 1954 in Frederick and was the son of the late Steiner Nelson Baer and Mary Esta Stup Baer.
James grew up on the family farm and was a graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School Class of 1973.
James enjoyed working the land, planting and harvesting crops, gardening and still target shooting. He was a member of the Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Association.
Surviving are his sisters, Shirley Acres, Gloria Barr (Paul) and Mary Ann Baer. His surviving brothers include, Donald Baer (Pam), Michael Baer (Denise) and Robert Baer.
He is also survived by an aunt and numerous nieces and nephews and his lifelong friend Rick Messner.
James was predeceased by his parents and by his brothers, David Baer and Raymond Baer and brother-in-law Harold Acres III.
The family would like to express their thanks to the doctors and nurses at Frederick Health and Autumn Lake for their care.
Services will be conducted at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont, Maryland at 10:00 am on March 22, 2024. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the start of the services.
Interment will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Utica.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, 10621 Old Frederick Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
