James Cromwell “JC” Gloyd, age 29, passed suddenly from this life on Thursday, May 2, 2024 as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Born March 5, 1995, JC loved life and lived it wide open during his 29 years on Earth. He was passionate about his family, friends, and God. He loved to drag race, skateboard, ride four-wheelers and motorcycles, and make lots of memories with his many friends and family. JC was employed as a biomedical field technician for Atlantic Biomedical in Baltimore, MD.
He is survived by his father, James Arthur Gloyd and step mother, Rebecca Gloyd, of Mount Airy, MD; step sisters, Lauren Huffman (Justin, Noah and Austin) of Smithsburg, MD and Bridget Strong (Josh) of Frederick, MD; and family Rottweiler, Dutch. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Lynda and Mark Domincovich of Murrells Inlet, SC; and cousins, Mark and Tom.
JC was preceded in death by his mother, Kelly “Sunshine” Gloyd; uncle, Dale Holler; as well as maternal and paternal grandparents.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 9th at Stauffer Funeral Home located at 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick.
A private burial will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in Frederick, where he will be laid to rest with his mother.
The family will host a celebration of JC’s life on July 6th. Additional details to be shared at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the Frederick Health Hospice Sunshine Fund. This non-profit fund is named in memory of Kelly Gloyd and spreads “sunshine” through monetary assistance to the lives of hospice and palliative care patients and their families in Frederick County.
JC will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and Dutch. We will always carry his memory in our hearts and know that one day we will meet again.
