James Gregory Missick

James  Gregory Missick was born on November 25, 1957 in Nassau Bahamas. He was the son of  Maud Baskerville and James Altaman Missick.  He departed this life at his residence in Frederick, Maryland  to move to his heavenly home on October 17, 2022.

Greg was raised in a  home with his grandmother Mary Jane Black  (Grammy) and father James Missick, Sr.  At an early age, he attended DC public schools as well as various churches in the DC area with his grandmother.

He worked various job in the Washington, DC area.  He took pride in going to work and was dedicated to his job.  His last job was at Harris Teeter in Germantown, MD.  He loved working for Harris Teeter.

 Greg was a traveling man, he would travel from Washington, DC to Miami, Florida all the time.  He always lived with his eldest sister Beverly who he referred to as "Sista" and his brother Allen.  Greg was a free spirit that loved people and everyone loved Greg.  Greg was always helping people. Anything you asked him to do he would do it, especially if he loved you.  Greg was always there to help in any way that he could.  Even if it was to watch his great nieces and nephews, take them to the park or even help clean up after a function he was always there to lend a helping hand. 

Greg loved to be with family and friends on all occasions. He loved music, his favorite music was from the 60s and 70s era.  He loved to get on the dance floor and shake a leg and cut a rug too.  You would always find him in a joyful mood because he loved life.  He would give you the shirt off his back if you told him you needed it.

Greg was a sports fan, he loved the Washington Redskin, or Commanders as they are called now.  Greg was such a diehard fan that a previous Boss gave him his Season Tickets to the Redskins game which he shared with his niece and nephew.

Greg leaves to cherish his memories: His mother; Maud Baskerville, 3 brothers; Martinez Missick, Dwanye Missick (Lisa), Sylvester Hackney (Michelle), 4 sisters; Beverly Missick, Angela Lancaster, Jacqueline Murray, Tracey Hackney, and a host of  nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  Greg was preceded in death by his grandmother; Mary Jane Black, and father; James Missick Sr.
