James E. Sanders

James Ernest Sanders, 59, of Frederick, passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2026 at home, from complications of heart disease.

James was born on October 2nd, 1966 in Columbia SC. He was raised on farmland in the hills of Asheville, North Carolina, where he worked as a farm hand, newspaper boy, and went to school.

At 21, James moved to Gaithersburg, MD, in search of a new beginning, where he met his beloved wife, Elena. Soon after, he began working as an automotive technician, for varying companies, where he was able to explore his love for the automotive field.

Once James became Honda certified, he moved his family to Frederick MD, where he went on to have three girls, Amanda, Jessica, and Natalie. He continued his work as a mechanic at Honda, and eventually went on to explore the field of being an automotive salesman.

Throughout the years, James' hobbies included aquarium keeping, fishing, camping, and PC gaming. James also enjoyed Star Wars, classic music, and spending time with loved ones over dinner.

James is survived by his former wife, Elena, as well as his children: Amanda Preston and husband, Nathan Preston of Thornton, Colorado; and Jessica Sanders of Hagerstown; and Natalie Sanders and son-in-law, Benjamin Beaudoin, of Frederick Maryland; as well as three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved pugs, Sugar, Spice, and Bonzo.

James will be remembered by his easy going personality, and willingness to help. He was always able to fix things, no matter how broken they were, and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
