James Edward Smith, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Williamsport Retirement Village in Williamsport, MD of complications related to Fragile X Associated Tremor Ataxia.
He was born February 25, 1945, in Hagerstown. At age five months he joined the Grimm family and was raised by Edna and Wilbur Grimm.
He was a 1963 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
Jim truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; visiting with friends, feeding the squirrels at the Hagerstown City Park, and following many sports, especially his beloved Orioles.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristen Head and five grandchildren: Caleb, Katherine, Kariana, Elijah and Leanna Head.
Interment will be private.
