Mr. James Eugene Catlin, 84, of Frederick, formerly of Derwood, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Geraldine Young Catlin, his wife of 60 years.
Born on November 4, 1922, in Akron, Ohio he was the son of the late William Hobart and Gertrude Patton Catlin. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Intelligence analyst. Mr. Catlin served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a founding member of the Redland Baptist Church in Derwood as well as a mason. James was a avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State football fan, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons: Jeff Catlin and wife Judy of Grasonville, MD and Dave Catlin and wife Theresa of New Market; 3 grandchildren: Craig Catlin, Andrew Catlin and Michael Catlin; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Sarkis and husband Raymond of Akron, OH, and a brother, Bill Catlin and wife Beverly of Palatine, IL.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Robert Catlin and Wilbur Catlin.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM on Sunday, January 14, at Redland Baptist Church, 6922 Muncaster Mill Rd., Rockville where a memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM with Rev. Bob Rich officiating.
Interment will be private
