Jane C. (Cliver) Neff, of Glen Rock and formerly of Frederick, Maryland, entered into rest at WellSpan York Hospital on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the age of 73.
Born in Philadelphia, Jane was the daughter of the late Russell H. Cliver, Sr., and Helen Caroline (Fischer) Cliver. She graduated from Riverside High School in Riverside, New Jersey, and went on to work as a dispatcher for Henkels & McCoy, Inc., as well as with the USO of Philadelphia. Jane proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, retiring in 1998 at the rank of Gunnery Sergeant (E-7).
Above all else, Jane treasured her family. Affectionately known as “Nana Jane” to her granddaughters, she was incredibly giving and selfless, always making sure her children had everything they needed as they were growing up. Caring for others came naturally to Jane, and her family knew they could always count on her.
Jane had a lifelong love for animals and nature, especially bird watching. Her gentle way with animals earned her the affectionate description of being a “real-life Snow White.” She also had a competitive side. During high school, she played goalie on the field hockey team and later enjoyed spending time in bowling leagues. At home, she could often be found watching her favorite cop shows or following tennis and football. She was an especially devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Jane is survived by her son, Galen D. “Jack” Neff, Jr. and his wife, Diana; her daughter, Jessica M. Neff; and her beloved granddaughters, Madison, Maya, Annabelle, and Olivia. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda, Rusty (Lee), and Ellie; her nieces, Erika and Carrie; her nephew, Bobby; her grand-nephews, Giovanni and Noah; and her grand-niece, Ellianna. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2026, at Stauffer's Funeral Home in Frederick, MD from 10am to 12pm.
