Jane Gerhardt Trevett of Middletown MD passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 17th 2025 at Frederick Health Hospital after a short but courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was 77 years young.
The family would like to thank the FHH 2C Nurses for caring so well for Jane as well as the Middletown first responders who went above and beyond with action and compassion.
If kindness, gentleness, and unselfishness could be represented by one person Jane would be the perfect example.
She was born on July 6, 1948 in Bethlehem PA and is preceded in death by her mother Jane Gerhardt and her father Reginald Gerhardt Jr. Jane leaves behind her brother Reginald Gerhardt III.
She attended college at Marjorie Webster and Georgian Court obtaining a degree in Art. While attending school Jane experienced love at first sight when she met Trev Trevett on a blind date 57 years ago. After 53 years of marriage they loved each other unequivocally every day.
Two people on this earth are fortunate enough to call her Mama. Kate McGuire of Vienna VA and Jason Trevett of Middletown MD. To them being able to call her their mom is the highest honor and they are so grateful for that.
In addition Jane leaves behind her son in-law Gene McGuire and her daughter in-law Laura Trevett who she loved both as her own.
She was so grateful for her grandchildren Reagan and Jack McGuire as well as Caden, Colson, Coen, and Selah Trevett. Jane showed unmatched devotion and love to them always in the form of unaltered time, attention, affection, as well as gifts, cookies, and any other snacks their parents might not have approved of but were always available at Grammie’s house.
Even though she is gone from this world her example of unconditional love for her family and friends will last for generations to come. If anyone had the fortunate opportunity to know her you are a better person in this life because of it.
The reason Jane was able to show this world so much kindness, love, and gentleness was because of her unwavering faith in God. She was a devoted Sunday School teacher, missionary leader, and member of her local congregation Frederick COGOP since 1972.
The family asks that instead of donations you take time out of your day to love your family well with encouragement, affection, or even a simple phone call or text saying you are proud of them. Take the next opportunity available now and in the future to show family, neighbors, or even a stranger kindness and love even in the midst of anger or hardship. That is what our Mama did so well and she would want all of us to continue to do the same.
A celebration of life service for Jane will be held at El Shaddai Congregation in Frederick Maryland on January 21st at 11am.
