Janet Ellen Rohrer

Janet Ellen Rohrer, age 78, passed from this life into God's hands on Thursday, March 19, after a brief illness. Janet was born March 17,1948 in Boonsboro, MD.

She was the daughter of the late D. Arthur and Katherine (Bowers) Rohrer. She graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1966. Janet obtained a Bachelor's degree from Towson State College (now University) and a Master's from Shippensburg University in Elementary Education.

She spent 40 of her 41 professional career years as 4th and 5th grade teacher at Boonsboro Elementary School and one year at Pleasant Valley Elementary School.

During her retirement, Janet spent many hours crocheting, creating jams, pies and buckeye candies which she sold at farmers markets with her brother.

A devoted sister and aunt, she is survived by her sister Judith Rohrer Williamson (Arthur) and brother Daniel Rohrer, of Boonsboro; her niece Kristin Williamson Bucklen (Matthew), and her great niece and nephew Kali and Cameron Bucklen, all of Glen Mills, PA.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, March 24. The funeral home will be open at 9 am followed by the funeral service at 10 am Wednesday, March 25 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville.

Janet will be profoundly missed, she had so much more to give.
