Janet Lorraine Summers

Janet Lorraine (Keadle) Summers, 85, of Boonsboro, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village in Boonsboro.
Born on April 11, 1925 in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Russell Ellsworth and Blanche Naomi (Jones) Keadle.
Lorraine was employed as a cashier with the Washington County Board of Education and retired after 26 years of service at Boonsboro Junior High School.
She was a member of the Boonsboro Lioness Club, the Boonsboro Homemakers Club, and was a volunteer at the Boonsboro Elementary School and the Boonboro Band Boosters.
Lorraine was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard E. Summers; her daughter, Linda L. Hanes and her husband Maurice of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; her granddaughter Kimberly M. Hanes of Frederick, Maryland; her grandson Bryan C. Hanes and his wife Bethany of Hagerstown; two great-granchildren Madison E. and Alexia N. Hanes of Hagerstown; her sister Patricia Keadle Fleming and her brother Maynard E. Keadle, both of Cockeysville, Maryland. She is also survived by three nephews, Russell, Michael and Patrick; and two nieces, Jane and Missy.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Rev. Joseph I. Donovan, III and the Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
