Janice Clare (Bowers) George, 88, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died at home in Adamstown, Maryland on April 6, 2026.
She worked as a nurse anesthetist at Columbia Hospital and was a school nurse for Penn Hills School District. She was born in Michigan, raised in Pennsylvania and was a longtime Maryland resident.
Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Rd., Frederick, MD 21703. Interment will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 733 Patton St., Monroeville, PA 15146.
