Janie (Jane) Stickley

Janie E. Stickley, 76, of Ijamsville, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD.

Born on January 9, 1945, in New York,  she was the daughter of the late Victor William Basher and Olga Mary (Rudz) Basher.

She was the beloved wife of the late Wallace Stickley.

Janie retired from Ride On, where she enjoyed many years providing primary public transportation for the people of Montgomery County and surrounding areas.

She was also a member of the Fairview Chapel in New Market for many years. Jane loved her family and friends dearly. She valued working hard, baking and cherished her life on the farm, tending to her animals and gorgeous flowers. She especially looked forward to her weekly Sunday breakfast with the Golden Coral Bunch and her local outings with friends and neighbors.  Jane will be missed greatly but her family finds comfort knowing her and Wallace are together again.

She is survived by her step-children, Steven Strickley and wife, Justine,  Wallace Stickley, Jr., Catherine Smith and Troy Strickley and wife, Shannon; brothers, Earl, Jeff and Randy Basher.  She is also survived by her dear friend, Denis Bernard, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. 21702.

A celebration of Janie's life will follow at 3:00 pm. A reception will be held from 3:30pm to 5:30 pm at the funeral home. Dr. Ray Moreland will officiate.  Interment will be private.
