Jasmine Imani Williams-Young, of Taneytown, Maryland passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019. She was 26 years old and just shy of her 27th birthday.
Jasmine was born on August 10, 1992 to her mother Tina Yvette Young and the late James David Williams. Jasmine spent most of her childhood dreaming of becoming an artist. She would draw, paint, and make sketches of her friends and family. Upon high school, she enrolled in the local community college with aspirations to become an artist but also a mother. Jasmine worked as an event planner in her hometown.
Jasmine loved music, dancing and having a good time. She was rarely still whenever music came on, and always wanted you to turn it up! She loved food and would always want a plate to go. She also enjoyed reading, writing, and making crafts.
In February of 2015, Jasmine was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome. A very rare condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves in your body. For years Jasmine had been battling, a fight that, to her family, seemed like was never going to get better. Although Jasmine had been fighting, she kept a positive attitude on life and constantly reminded her family of how much she loved them. That same year she had given birth to her precious baby boy, who knew his mother as a strong warrior and an even stronger lover.
Jasmine taught all by living out the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
She is survived by her son, Benjamin Tracey James; life partner, Ricardo James; mother, Tina Yvette Young; sisters, Breanna and Alexis Gomez; brothers, Jamal Perry-Young and Andre Steinberg; grandfather, Charles Young; great grandmother, Delsena Goodwin; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom she loved and cared for deeply.
Her father, James David Williams; her aunt, Tracy Yvonne Young; her grandmother, Levonia Edmonds; and great-grandmother, Mattie L. Edmonds precedes Jasmine in death.
