Jason Benjamin Stansbury

December 20, 1970 — March 2, 2023

New Market

Jason Benjamin Stansbury, 52, of New Market, MD passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at home after a presumed cardiac event.

Jason was born on December 20, 1970, in Baltimore, MD.  He was the son of William Samuel Stansbury and Christine Elizabeth (Blubaugh) Stansbury.  Jason is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan (McLeod).  He was the very proud father of Cole and Jessica.  Jason is also survived by siblings, Kevin Stansbury, Jennifer Stansbury, and Daniel Stansbury.

After graduating from South Carroll High School in 1988, Jason became a certified journeyman machinist and has spent much of his career with the Army Research Lab.

Jason started his coaching career by coaching his younger siblings in elementary school.  He then progressed to coaching at South Carroll High School JV Lacrosse team.  He went on to coach his children in elementary, middle and high school for basketball as well as lacrosse.   His greatest joy was seeing the growth and teamwork among the kids over the years.  Jason instilled a love of the sport as well as the desire to put forth your best effort in each and every player.

Jason loved music and had a wonderful singing voice.  He grew up jamming with siblings to their favorite songs, in the car with his kids, on the deck with his wife, and at the fire pit with friends.

While Jason had many interests and talents, by far his most cherished time was the time spent with his family.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. 8 East Ridgeville, Mt. Airy, MD.
