Jeffrey Alan Sell

Jeffrey Alan Sell died unexpectedly in the home of dear friends on May 30, 2023, in Lothian, MD at the age of 58.

Jeff was born on August 13, 1964, in Ford City, PA to Carol and James Sell. He graduated from Ford City High School in 1982 and Indiana University of PA in 1987 with a degree in Computer Science.  He married Karen, his college sweetheart, in 1991.  He started his career with the Marriott corporation and moved on to Northrop Grumman, where he’s worked for the past 23 years, most recently as a Senior Principal Software Development Analyst.  The family home is in Frederick, MD.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Carol and James Sell of Ford City, PA; his wife of 31 years, Karen (Yankasky) Sell; 2 daughters, Amanda Sell and Shannon Sell, and their partners Wesley Cooper and Riley Judd respectively; his brother, Timothy Sell; parents in law Doris (Hooven) and John Yankasky of Ridgway, PA; brother and sister in law Barbara (Ritter) and Tom Yankasky and their sons Mark and Ben Yankasky of Freeport, PA; brother and sister in law Kimberly (Bowser) and John Yankasky and their children Abigail and Ashley Yankasky of Ford City, PA; Aunt Carla Slanicka of Kittanning, PA; cousins Kerri (Slanicka) and Jarod Grafton and their children Aubrey, Dominic and Connor of Kittanning, PA; cousins Jennifer (Carlo) and Steven Slanicka and their children Sofia and Siara of Freeport, PA.  He is preceded in death by his Uncle Steven Slanicka of Kittanning, PA.

His children remember him as a hilarious, generous and loving father who loved to tell stories. He always supported them 110%, accepted them and their choices and accepted his children’s friends as his own children.
Jeff’s favorite hobbies included hockey, NASCAR races and spending time with his family and friends.  Jeff was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin fan and loved collecting small model cars and traveling.  He was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Frederick and the Eagles in Ford City, PA.

The family will receive friends form 4-7 PM on Friday, June 9 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702, where a funeral service will be held at 3:33 PM on Saturday, June 10.
