Jerry Lee Potter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Potter, of Gapland, MD, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. He was the husband of Marsha Lee Potter for 60 years.

Born September 17, 1944 in Yarrowsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Elton Leroy Potter, Sr. and Elsie Mae Potter (Jones).

Jerry was a graduate of Boonsboro High School, class of 1963.

Jerry was employed for over 30 years at Pepco as a Senior Power Plant Operator.

He was a devoted husband, father and Pap Pap. In addition of his wife, he is survived by daughter, Tammy Walsh and husband, Jude, of Boonsboro, daughter, Brenda Potter of Hagerstown, daughter, Linda Potter of Gapland, son, Randy Potter and wife, Ellen, of Knoxville. He was Pap Pap to his beloved grandchildren, Zachary Potter and wife, Lindsay, Jeremiah Potter and wife, Kayla, Tyler Walsh, Megan Merriman and husband, Josh, Trevor Walsh, Ethan Potter; and great-grandchildren, Jace Potter, Andyn Walsh, Brayson Walsh, Cade Potter, Josie Merriman, Teagan Walsh, and Adley Merriman. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Reeder of Boonsboro; and brother, Carl E. Potter of Warfordsburg, PA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home. Rev. Tim May to officiate. Burial will be held at Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
