Glenn Jones, 89, of Middletown, MD, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022. He was born on September 13, 1933 in Greene County, TN to Robert & Madge Jones. He is survived by his loving wife, Nannie Jones who he was married to for 62 years. 


After high school, Glenn served in the US Army. He then started his career at The Kingsport Press as a Bookbinder in Kingsport, TN where he met Nannie. Once married, they moved to Maryland where Glenn worked for the US Department of Treasury for the balance of his career, retiring from the Bureau of Engraving & Printing in 1995.


Glenn was dedicated to his family and was an avid sports fan who enjoyed baseball, football, and NASCAR. He, along with Nannie, attended as many games and sporting events as possible to watch their children and grandchildren play. As a young father, he coached his own boys when they played baseball. Glenn enjoyed traveling. He and Nannie frequented Florida, Tennessee and Myrtle Beach where they visited with and enjoyed time with family & friends. Glenn also enjoyed many fishing trips he took on the Chesapeake Bay with his carpool friends and work associates from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Michael Jones and wife Pam and Darin Jones and wife Kelly.  Glenn is also survived by grandchildren; Chris Jones and wife Courtney, Jonathan Jones and Aubrey Horton, Katie Jones and Brandon Jones.  Glenn is also survived by his first great-grandchild, Zahara Jones.

 
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. A private family internment will be held after the Memorial service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD.
