John Samuel Cody, 27, of Thurmont, MD passed away Thursday,June 23, 2016.
Born October 12, 1988 in Frederick, MD he is the son of James Cody of Thurmont and Sandra Miller of Knoxville.
John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and served as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and most importantly loved his family.
In addition to his parents he is survived by step-mother Tracie Cody of Thurmont and his step-father John Miller of Knoxville; siblings Sarah Cody of Hagerstown, Rachel Cody and Cruz Mills both of Knoxville; grandmother Barbara Cody of Thurmont.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather John Samuel Cody; grandfather William Edward McGraw and grandmother Sylvia Naomi McGraw and cousin William Russell Baker, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 7-9PM where a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, at 11AM. Pastor Clayton A. Clark will officiate.
Interment will follow at Boyd's Presbyterian Cemetery.
