Jack's passion extended far beyond his professional career; family was always his foremost priority. He treasured every moment spent with his ten grandchildren, finding joy in family gatherings and experiences. Jack had a particular fondness for creating lasting memories, enjoying a long-standing tradition of beach vacations with immediate and extended family-a beloved custom that spanned over 60 years and frequently included as many as fifty family members. A proud alumnus of Middletown High School, class of 1969, Jack furthered his education at Frederick Community College. He also showed his patriotic spirit by serving in the 558th Signal Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve.
Beyond his professional and familial roles, Jack was actively involved in his community. He was a member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, AMVETS in Middletown, and the Elks Club in Frederick. His spirited personality shone brightly in all areas of his life.
An avid golfer, Jack's love for the game led him to participate in numerous golf competitions throughout the years, and to take many golf trips with family and friends. He achieved notable successes, including qualifying for play in the Virginia State Amateur and being a past Club Champion at the Williamsburg Country Club. His golfing prowess was demonstrated by his impressive record, which included placing in the top tens of local amateur competitions and securing six holes-in-one, alongside being part of the winning Virginia State Team Play competition.
