John Robbie "Heavy" Vanhoozer, Jr., 64, of Frederick, MD, left this earth suddenly, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was the husband of Gail Vanhoozer. Born on January 20, 1961 in Bethesda, MD, he was the son of Eleanor Vanhoozer and the late Bobby Vanhoozer.
Robbie grew up in Gaithersburg, MD. He was a 1979 graduate of Albert Einstein High School. Robbie loved cars and trucks, and he fulfilled his life-long dream of being a truck driver and mentor. Robbie loved spending his free time with his family, and spent the last 51 years with his soul mate, Gail Vanhoozer. He enjoyed his early morning phone calls with his mother, Eleanor Vanhoozer. Robbie loved picking on his daughter, Heather Crummitt, and eating his son-in-law Ryan Crummitt's, BBQ. But most of all, Robbie loved to sit and cheer on his grand-daughters: Sarah "Sweet Pea" Crummitt and Remington "MonkMonk" Crummitt, at the softball field. Robbie will also be missed by his fur babies. Robbie is loved by many and missed by a lot more, mostly the truck driving family, especially Wes Laster and Charlie Dennis.
The family is honoring Robbie's wish and he will be cremated. A celebration of his life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family's GoFundMe page, or by reaching out to the family directly.
