Mr. Jon W. Stevens, 62, of Kensington, formerly of Mt. Airy , died on Wednesday April 13, 2011 , at his home.
Born on August 5, 1948 in Arlington , Virginia , he was the son of William M. and Ardyce D. Hagen Stevens of Mt. Airy.
He served in the USMC during Vietnam . He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was currently employed at the National Institutes of Health.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, Bill Stevens of Barnesville and a sister, Ardyce Bierly and husband Lynn of Mt. Airy. Also survived by two nieces, Lauren Bierly of Midland , TX., and Allsison Bierly of Mt. Airy .
Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Tuesday April 19, 2011 , at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville , Blvd, Mt. Airy , MD , where funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday April 20, in the Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor David Durant will officiate. Interment will follow in Taylorsville Cemetery , Mt. Airy .
