Joseph Facundo

Joseph Facundo, 73, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, Maryland.

Born on September 9, 1950, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Edward G Facundo and Ethel (Lugo) Facundo.

He was a graduate of Florida State University, class of 78. Joseph proudly served his county, in the United States Air Force from 68-72 as a Sergeant.

After being honorably discharged, Joe found another way to continue to serve his community. 

He worked for NOAA, as the National Weather Service Chief, for Observation Systems. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Nivia Facundo, son Edward Facundo (Jo Ann Yang), Elio & Nico Yang Facundo; He is also survived by his sister Ethel Facundo and brother Edward Facundo (Michael Gallagher).

The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.

Interment will be at Cheltenham Veteran's Cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland at a future date.
