On April 8, 2024, as the world watched the solar eclipse Joseph Mace Nelson, “HBO Joe”, Myersville MD took his last breath.

He was born June 19, 1955 in California. Joe was predeceased by his parents Dee W. Nelson and Martha (Ron) Newhouser, brother Nick Nelson and Grandpa Newt. He is survived by son Tyler Nelson of Frederick, brother David (Heather) Newhouser of S.C. and sisters Gabrielle and Deette as well as sons through love Zachary and Cyrus Roberson,

Joe loved Aunt Faye and his cousins out west. He believed whoever dies with the most toys wins and spent his life collecting them! Harley Davidsons, guitars, trucks, old stuff and any unique item that caught his eye had a home with him. The number 42, making impressive drawings, sewing leather, riding, making cool things like walking sticks as well as family and friends all mattered.

His cabin in the woods of Murdock Mountain was a great source of pride-"you know the trail.” There and everywhere his charm drew many people into his friendship circle. He loved life. The family and friends of Joe extend thanks to Silverado, he and we felt the love! At Joe’s request there will be no service.
