Joseph (Joe) Yusko, 76, of Middletown, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 8, 2026. Joe was also affectionally known as Grandpap, Pap Nyuk Nyuk, and PapPap by his grandchildren.
Joe was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on August 22, 1949. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Peggy Yusko; his blessed children, Joseph Yusko (Bobbi), Nicki Attenberger (Tom), and Alyssa Pilarcik (Seth); his grandchildren, Hunter Yusko, Trevor Yusko, Maddie Attenberger, Calvin Pilarcik, Ollie Pilarcik, and Violet Pilarcik; his brother, Jeff Yusko (Tammy); his best friend since Boy Scouts, Kenny Ivory and his loving family, and many more loving friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Carole Yusko; and his best friend, Sandie Ivory.
Joe was a retired and very talented carpenter, woodworker, and artist. He was a dedicated member of the Elks 684, the VFW 3285, and the Oriole’s Nest 331. He loved working in his workshop, making furniture, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Joe enjoyed traveling and getting lost on purpose on drives with Peggy. His favorite place they spent time together was Alaska. He was an avid Steelers fan, and the number 1 Rolling Stones fan ever.
Joe was the most amazing husband, father, and grandfather with a huge heart that made everyone smile. He defined what it means to be a helper as he wanted to help everyone he was with. He was proud of the beautiful life he lived, especially the family he created.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
A celebration of Joe's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from the funeral home chapel. Rev. Dr. Sarah B. Dorrance will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/.
