Judith Lynne Butler

Judith Lynne Butler, 82, of Damascus, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, November 14, 2025 at her residence. She was the wife of Rev. Henry G. Butler her husband of 61 years.

Born on May 8, 1943, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Walter Raymond Bean and Maxine Opal Thrasher Bean Draut.

She was a 1961 graduate of Oxon Hill High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; but most of career spent raising her family. She led a women’s Bible Study for more than 40 years. Judy enjoyed family and friends and going with her husband to her getaway home in Rehoboth beach.

Surviving in addition to her husband "Hank" are four children: Kimberly Steinbruegge and husband Brian, Wayne Butler and wife Lori, Derek Butler and wife Julie, Trenton Butler and wife Michelle; 19 Grandchildren: Garrett Steinbruegge and wife Hannah, Elizabeth Pokki and husband Alex, Jessica Clark and husband Jacob, Jacob Steinbruegge and wife Emma, Sam Steinbruegge, Sarah Butler, Rhett Butler and wife Tori, Blake Butler and wife Olivia, Ben Butler, Jane Butler, Audrey Butler, Gage Butler, Zeke Butler, Owen Butler, Ezra Butler, Nate Butler, Ailey Butler, Cort Butler, Winslow Butler; five Great Grandchildren: Eva Steinbruegge, Merritt Steinbruegge, Isla Steinbruegge, Billie Butler, George Butler; her sister Lorraine Shipp and husband Donnie.  She was preceded in death by a grandson Theo Butler.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 11901 Bethesda Church Road in Damascus, MD.

A celebration of Judith's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 11901 Bethesda Church Road in Damascus, MD. Phil Sewell will officiate. Interment will be at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery in Damascus, MD.
