Judy Delories Johns, 81, of Frederick, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at her home, under Hospice Care. She was the wife of the late James Lewis Johns. Born on November 14, 1944, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Donald William Rice and Carrie Mae (Huff) Rice.
She was a 1962 graduate of Walkersville High School, and worked at the I-70 truck stop, later at Wal-Mart on Guilford Drive for 17 years until her final retirement in her 70's. She was a fan of the Washington Redskins. In her final days, her granddaughter-in-law, Jackie Johns served as her primary caregiver, allowing her to be at home.
She is survived by a son: James Donald Johns; grandchildren: Jessica Johns, Jay Edward Johns, Jr. (Mandy), Jason Lee Johns (Jackie), Tammy Johns, and Robert Johns; great-grandchildren: Jay Edward, III, Skylar, Jonathan, Nathan, Savannah; siblings: Susan O'Toole, Russell Rice (Tina), Donna Bollinger, Ellie Gilbert (Tom).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Jerry Lewis Johns, and Jay Edward Johns, Sr.; a sister, Connie Jones.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27 from 10 to 11 AM, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home, Pastor Warren Rice officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frederick Health Hospice.
