Judy Knott, 88, from Boonsboro, MD, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Born in Peoria, IL, Judy was the daughter of the late Ruth S. Mills and Edward P. Corwin. She grew up in Cheverly, MD with her sister, Nancy, and twin sister, Jan. She went to Bladensburg High School and later married her high school sweetheart, the late Francis Knott (deceased 2006). They raised their family in Seabrook, MD and later retired to Boonsboro.

Judy’s bright blue eyes and warm smile could brighten a day and light up a room--and often did. She perfected the art of finding joy in the little moments, a butterfly floating on the breeze, a piece of chocolate cake, watercolor to a sheet of paper, or toes tapping to music. She loved animals, especially her beloved, Syd, reading and writing poetry, gardening, creating, dancing, and laughing. She was fun and playful but feisty and wise - a true mix of grit and grace. She loved telling and hearing a silly story, reading mystery novels and never said no to a sweet treat. In later years, she was introduced to Buddhism and found peace in its teachings and comfort meeting with her “Buddha Buddies’.

Judy loved her family dearly -- her ‘heart connections’ as she called them. She is survived by her children, Kathy Morgan (Jeff), Chris Beamer (Scott), Dan Knott (Teri), and Jenny Corkill (Steve); and grandchildren, Jessica Morgan, Katie Hash (Brandon), Jake Beamer, Lindsey Godwin (Kyle), Kelsey Dietrich (Tim), Rudy Slice (Brandon), Jodie Johnston (Conor), Sophie Corkill, Shane Corkill; and 11 great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Jan Keller; and many much loved nieces and nephews.

Judy is a reminder that magic exists wherever one chooses to find it.

"I haven’t gone to many places like some people I know, but my heart has traveled far and wide" -Judy Knott
