June Irene Griffith

June Irene Griffith, 91, of Middletown, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was the loving wife of the late Silas Seemore Griffith, who predeceased her December 11, 2007.

Born on June 10, 1935, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Grayson Guy Toms and Bessie Mae (Bowlus) Toms.

She graduated from Middletown High School in 1953. She worked at Hanover Shoe Factory in Middletown for 22 years. She married Silas in 1954 and were married for 53 and a half years at the time of his passing. Additionally, she worked for Golden Coral in Frederick for over 11 years as head of the prep food department. She was known amongst her colleagues as "Grandma" or "Miss June".

June was a member of the Boonsboro Family Worship Church for over 68 years. She started teaching Sunday school at 17 years of age until she was in her 70s. Mom loved her children, everyone of them. She loved teaching them about Jesus.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.

June is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Stultz; grandchildren, Jason (AJ), Jeremy, Jordan, Isaiah, Hope, Jennifer Ortiz and her children; her sister, Rebecca Jane Evanger; several wonderful nieces and nephews; and many other additional family members and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue and Stanley Lee Mann; her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hazel Remsburg and Gladys Mae Poole; and brothers, John Luther Toms, Donald Lee Toms, and Daniel Herman Toms.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Boonsboro Family Worship Center, 7605 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, with a celebration of her life to begin at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery.
