Justin David Riebman, a resident of Frederick County, MD, passed away on September 28, 2024 after a 14 month battle with oral cancer. He was 31.
Justin is survived by his wife, Gosia, their daughter Serena, parents Gary and Susan, brothers Ryan and Christopher, in-laws Melissa, John, and Kasia, many aunts, uncles, and extended family. He will be lovingly remembered for his life motto of “Teach Peace”.
Justin was born near Philadelphia, PA and later moved with his family to Maryland. He was a graduate of Linganore High School and Frederick Community College. He was a kind father and husband who enjoyed many outdoor activities with his family like walking, running, and hiking. He was a loyal Philadelphia sports fan and had a deep knowledge of trivia and statistics on the 76ers, Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies. He enjoyed writing fiction in his spare time, and loved movies, TV, and reading.
Justin played strategic board games and savored midnight video gaming with his two brothers. He loved to play team soccer as well as coaching his daughter’s peewee soccer team.
Justin received excellent and compassionate hospice care during his last few weeks; please consider donating to the Dove House Inpatient Hospice Unit in Westminster, MD www.lifebridgehealth.org/giving/bridginglife or to the American Cancer Society.
Justin never smoked, chewed tobacco, or abused alcohol so this is a reminder that oral cancer can happen to anyone (no matter what age). In honoring Justin’s memory, both families ask that anyone feeling any strange sensations or pain in their mouth or jaw to get checked out as soon as possible. As with any cancer, early detection and treatment are keys for a successful outcome.
