Karen Rebecca Fouche, 67, formerly of Boonsboro, passed from this life on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Devlin Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cumberland, Maryland.

Born on January 13, 1959, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Arthur S. and Eunice C. (Metzger) Fouche. She grew up on a dairy farm, where she developed a love for Holstein cows and a special fondness for her favorite cats.

Karen attended Boonsboro schools, the Job Development Center, and Marshall Street School. Throughout her life, she was involved with several organizations and workplaces, including Francis Key Center. During the eight years she lived in Myersville, she was associated with Med Source. She later attended Way Station in Frederick and, after moving to Cumberland, was associated with Ray of Hope.

Karen enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and had many interests that brought her happiness. She loved to travel and especially cherished a six-week road trip she took with her parents. She enjoyed going to fairs, eating out, indulging in chocolate and fried chicken, and watching television. She was a Washington Redskins fan and enjoyed keeping an eye on the weather. Karen also loved roses, the color red, and the animals that had always been a special part of her life.

She is survived by her sisters, Beverly Lapole and Melanie Fouche, both of Hagerstown; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory.

Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Meredith L. Fouche.

Karen will be remembered for the life she lived, the interests she enjoyed, and the memories she shared with her family and those who knew her. Her love of travel, animals, fairs, and the everyday things that made her happy will remain a lasting part of her story.

May Karen Rebecca Fouche rest in peace, forever remembered by those whose lives were touched by hers. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed.
