Karen Lynn Weeks

With heavy hearts, the family of Karen Lynn Weeks (Andrews) of Berlin, MD shares that she passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 53, following a 10 year courageous battle with kidney disease and coronary artery disease. Karen was born in Frederick, MD on December 15, 1972 and was the youngest daughter of George Andrews and Joan (Burdette) Andrews of Comus, MD. She graduated from Damascus High School in 1990 where she was on the tennis and co-ed volleyball team. She attended college at University of Bridgeport and Southern Connecticut State University, finishing her BA degree at Salisbury University. She worked in HRIS at Nextel Communications in VA for several years toward the beginning of her career and ended her career working for 13 plus years at Perdue Farms corporate offices in Salisbury, MD where she supported several programs and executives.

Her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her children, Gavin (22), Abbi (20), Garrett (18) and Ashley (30). She loved them wholeheartedly and devoted herself to caring for and supporting them in every way. Some of Karen’s favorite things were attending Abbi’s theatre productions, Gavin and Garrett’s baseball games when younger, and watching the Ravens games with Ashley. Mostly, she just enjoyed their many conversations and spending time with them. They were the center of her world and the source of her greatest pride and joy. The love, strength, and guidance Karen gave them will remain with them throughout the rest of their lives.

Karen is survived by her children Gavin Weeks, Abbigale Weeks, Garrett Weeks and Ashley Weeks; parents George and Joan Andrews; sister Robin Andrews (Tom); brother Michael Andrews (Niki) and nieces Brooke and Paige Andrews. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be forever remembered.

A friends and family celebration of life will be held at Ocean Pines Yacht Club in Ocean Pines, MD on Thursday October 22, 2026 from Noon – 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to American Kidney Fund or National Kidney Foundation.
