Keegan Richard Coleman

November 8, 1993 — February 24, 2024

Monrovia

Keegan Richard Coleman, 30, of Monrovia Maryland peacefully and serenely left this life after a long courageous battle from the injuries he sustained in his 2014 car accident. He passed away on Saturday, February 24,2024 at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Keegans story began on November 8, 1993, in Silver Spring, Maryland, when he became the baby brother to his devoted sister Kristen Coleman (Sajad) and his brother Kyle Coleman. He is the youngest child of Joan Walker Coleman and the late Richard Lynn Coleman, Jr.

Keegan was electrified to become an uncle for the very first time on his 18th birthday to Caleb Coleman, Kristen’s son. A few years later his brother Kyle had a son Kolten Coleman which equaled double the trouble.

In 2002 his family moved to Monrovia, Maryland.  Keegan was better known to his lifelong friends as “Ricky Bobby”. Some of those friends certainly not all include Brad, Brett, Dylan, Danny, Shawn, TJ, Tucker, and Travis.  If you were his friend, you were his family. Keegan will always be known for his kind heart, quick wit, infectious smile, bear hugs, and big blue eyes. His bear hugs and crazy sense of humor started at an exceptionally early age. Keegan left a positive impact on all those he met. He was always willing to drop on a dime what he was doing to help someone in need. You could say he was a superhero hiding in plain sight. He was a friends, friend. No matter the weather you could always find Keegan outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and four-wheeling. The muddier the better.

Keegans memory will forever be treasured by those closest to him. In addition to his parents and siblings he is survived by his maternal grandmother Kathy Walker, his Aunts and Uncles, Charles Coleman (Ruth), John Walker, Janet Walker (George), and cousins Payton Bieber, Patrick Bieber, Nicole Bieber, Johnny Walker, Morgan Walker, Sydney Walker, Eric Perry, and Kerrianne Perry.

Keegan fought tirelessly for nine years. He has now received his golden wings.  He is now with his family and friends who have passed on before him. Proceeded in death by his Aunt Gail Perry and Grandparents George Walker, Betty Jo Coleman and Richard Coleman, Sr.

Keegan was most fortunate to have an exceptional care team that started at University of Maryland Shock Trauma, then again at Transitions. When he came home, Keegan had a dedicated group of professionals who took tremendous care of him. Keegans caretaker, Ms. Shirley had been by his side shortly after he came home. During Keegan’s nine-year journey he touched the hearts of everyone.

There will be a Celebration of Keegans life at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD.21771. Interment immediately following.
