Kim Kaetzel Weedy, 79, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on August 10, 2025.
Born and raised in Frederick, Kim spent his entire life in the community he loved. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Army, a commitment that laid the foundation for his strong sense of duty and service. Following his military service, Kim began a fulfilling career as a Meat Manager at Safeway, where he was respected for his dedication, integrity, and friendly spirit.
Kim and his late wife, June (Dudrow) Weedy, shared a deep love for animals and agriculture. Together, they owned and operated United Pet Foods, a small animal feed and supply store, driven by their passion for animal care and their desire to provide quality feed and supplies to the local community. Their commitment to animals extended beyond the business—they also fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a farm, where they raised sheep and built a life rooted in hard work, compassion, and the beauty of rural living.
Kim is survived by his loving family: his son Aaron Weedy and wife Nichole, and their daughters Madison and Ava; his daughter Karen (Weedy) Leist and husband Brad; and his brother Gary Weedy and wife Cheryl. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife June, his parents Ralphord Ketzel Weedy and Edna (McQueen) Weedy, his sister Holli Weedy Geouge, and his brother Steven Weedy.
A celebration of Kim's life journey will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering a man whose life was marked by hard work, devotion to family, love for animals, and a quiet passion for the land he called home.
