Larry E. May

Larry E. May, 78, of Boonsboro, MD passed away peacefully Monday, November 27, 2023 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown.

Larry was born March 22, 1945 to the late parents Paul T. and Margaret L. (Smith) May.

He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School and the Baltimore Institute of Technology.  He retired from National Geographic Society in 2001.  After retirement, he professionalized his hobby by working for Snurr Electric.

Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Kaye (Harwood) May; his children, Kevin V. May (Deborah) and Laura McElroy (Jason); his grandchildren, Hunter May, Hadley May, Sarah McElroy and Jacob McElroy; his step-grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Snelling; and his sister, Connie L.  Myers (and her late husband, Howard).

A private interment will be held at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County - Doey’s House. Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at BastStaufferFuneralHome.com.
